PICKING MY BLUES AWAY
There are six ragtimes in this collection. The typical ragtime technique means playing the alternating bass line with your thumb and the melody with your index and middle finger. The “Woody Woodpecker Blues“ has a number of jazz elements in it.
There is a collection of the time signatures 4/4, 3/4, 6/8 and 7/8. The 6/8 “Thingamajig“ has an Irish, classical touch and the 7/8 “Sky Train“ evolved while playing with a group specializing in Turkish music. “With Just A Little Bit Of Gladness“ has decidedly rhythmical elements for the right hand. Hammers, pulloffs, bends, slides, grace notes and harmonics are techniques turning up in a number of these compositions.
The book “Picking My Blues Away“ consists of two parts, the first with music and the second with tablature with the usual guitar fingering for the right and left hand.
This book is for medium and advanced guitar players.
